The History of Electricity in Azarbaijan

History is the witness of Azarbaijan's brilliant name that has been noticed as cradle of civilization. This ancient land that has been said territory of The firsts, from the beginning has written its name in modern industries field and in acceptance of European tendency to modernity flow has been acquainted with western new inventions sooner than the other provinces due to coming of European businessmen and missioners to Tabriz since Agh Ghoyounloo and Ghara Ghoyounloo era and then Safaviyeh and also Ghajar particularly after Iran and Russia's fight and increasing Russian vicinity role. Establishment of first printery, first education center, and Publishing first newspaper in Azarbaijan are some evidence for this claim.

In the study of Iran electricity history if we look carefully at the documentation of Azarbaijan electricity history we can achieve some evidence to confirm the idea of Azarbaijan being the first in this field and it empowers the opinion that the first signs of electricity industry production and progress have been in this region. One of the most significant cultural responsibilities of each repertory is to study and probe the flow of forming that repertory in a historic outlook. AREC (Azarbaijan Regional Electricity Company) like the other regional electricity companies has been established after forming Ministry of Energy and approving constitution of subordinate companies and supports all regions of this line , wants to act accurately in this area and study the past of electricity's entrance to this region .
